SUMMARY:'Truth Beauty' - An Exhibition by Eamonn B. Shanahan
DESCRIPTION:‘Truth Beauty’\nAn art exhibition featuring acrylic and oil paintings by\nEamonn B. Shanahan \nThe Source Arts Centre\, Thurles\nOpening Night: November 6th 2018 at 6.30pm\nRunning from November 7th 2018. \n‘Beauty is truth\, truth beauty’\, a lucid whisper echoed from John Keats as an underlining concept throughout the collection of Eamonn B. Shanahan’s three-year portfolio of oil and acrylic paintings. \nAll twenty-one paintings are titled with emotive adjectives; each painting subconsciously discovers one’s inner psyche\, their battle with emotions and the relationship constructs between others and themselves. He aims to immerse the viewer’s personal experience\, their interaction with the entities\, their ambiguous narrative\, colours and textures. \n  \nEAMONN B. SHANAHAN \nThurles born artist\, Eamonn B(rendan) Shanahan studied at the Crawford College of Art & Design\, Cork. After fours years developing his artistic practice\, Eamonn moved to London to pursue his MA in Creative Producing at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2015. \nAs an advocate of creativity\, Eamonn has endorsed the same through his work in theatre as a director\, designer\, visual artist and educator. \nAmong other galleries\, Eamonn has exhibited within a group and as a solo artist at the Crawford Art College\, Alliance Francaise\, Cork Film Centre\, The Source Arts Centre and Lismore Castle. As a practicing and commercial artist\, Eamonn continues to use photography\, film\, painting and multimedia/graphic design. \n  \nARTIST STATEMENT \nWhile there are copious political\, spiritual and social narratives that can be explored and discovered within the work; it is the simple\, emotive individual that is indirectly discovered in each painting. \nEach painting is created without direct preconception but with a compound memory of personal experiences\, art\, text and music. \nThroughout the work questions or subconscious realisations of pure feeling towards our own being and those who we encounter prevail. The omnipresent ambiguous identities and their relationships change with each new encounter you have with the work. This engagement provides a live theatricality that can be resonant to your own life journey. \nThis collection encompasses three years of work from 2015 to 2018. \nFor details contact Eamonn at info@eamonnshanahanart.com or 087-2991503.\nwww.eamonnshanahanart.com \n  \n  \n
